Inventor thicken offset command tutorial

In inventor thicken offset command use to add or removes thickness to faces of a part or a quilt. Create an offset surface from a part face or surface, or a new solid.
To select tangent continuous part faces, use the automatic face chain option. To add sides between the original surface and the offset surface, use the create vertical surface option.

How to use inventor thicken offset command?

1. Click thicken offset command icon, the thicken offset dialog box will appear.

2. There are two select types you can choose:
+ Face. You can select one individual faces with each click.
+ Quilt. you can select a group of connected faces with one click.
3. Select the output type: Solid or sheet.
4. In the graphics window, select the face that you want to thicken or offset.
5. Set the distance value in the distance box.
6. Select the connecting between new thicken with old solid: Join, cut, intersect, new solid.
7. Set the direction of the thickness.
8. Click OK to finish this command.
