How to translate a word document?

Finding and downloading documents is now incredibly easy with the use of the Internet. Moreover, with documents written in foreign languages, the internet also helps us to translate them into the languages we use every day. There are many ways for translation a word document as google translate, google docs, online translation, offline translation software, … In this post, I will guide to you a way to save more time without having to copy and paste to Google translate, which is the text translation feature in Word.

Word using “Translate” tool to translate documents. Here is the guide for Microsoft Word 2016 version.

I. Translate selected text in word.

Step 1: Open the document and select the text that needs to be translated.

Step 2: In the Ribbon tab, find the tab “Review” and choose “Translate”. You can choose the translation method you want. Click on the “Translate selected text”.

Step 3: A Research box will appear on the right side of the screen, select the language you want to translate the text into, here we have Vietnamese as the selected language. Click on the “Vietnamese” option.

Step 4: The translation results will be displayed at the Microsoft Translator box right below.

And that is how to translate a document using Word.

Moreover, you can also translate other text by copying the text you want to translate and then pasting in the box “Search For”, press Enter.

II. Translate a whole word document.

You can translate full your document as follows:

Step 1: Open the document and select the text that needs to be translated.

Step 2 : In the Ribbon tab, find the tab Review  -> Translate -> choose translation language. 

The translation language options dialog will appear. At here, you can select language list at translate from and translate to.

Step 3: At translate options, select translate document option. (Note: Translate your document using an online translation service). A translate whole document note will appear, click Yes.
