When we design a mold, if angular slider is too long, we need use locking block to make angular slider pin is shorter and stronger. If we don’t make locking block , angular slider pin can be broken during working time.
advantage of block: easy installation and maintenance, although the angular pin mold was broken when use for production, the mold does not need send down from the injection machine to replace it.
How to select angle of locking block and angular slider pin?
For this tip, we will call:
Angle of angular pin is: a
angle of block is: b.
1. If a>b:
If the angle of an angular pin is larger than the angled of a block. mold is damaging.
2. if a=b:
If the angle of an angular pin and angle of block are equal, the slide code can not moving.
3. if a<b:
If the angle of an angular pin is smaller than the angled of a block, the block and pin touch easily , the movement is smooth.
From 1,2,3 Angle of angular pin is smaller than angle of block . When we design the mold, Angle of angular pin usually is smaller then 25 degree, about 12~25 degree.
This picture below will show 2 type of block and angular pin. For concept A, we use 1 bolt to fix the block to cavity. For concept B, we will use two bolts, it use for big block.
