I. How to change line spacing in Word quickly?
For quick spacing, select the content you want to line space. You can select paragraph or all of the text, depending on your needs.
Go to tab Home, drag the cursor to the Paragraph tool group, select Line and Paragraph Spacing and choose the parameters that fits best.
For example: the paramete 1, 1.15, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 are all correspond to the number of extension lines. I will try spacing for 2.5 lines.
Here is the result. The space between the lines is now 2.5 lines.
In addition, you can also use the key combination to quickly spacing:
Ctrl +1: 1 line spacing;
Ctrl + 2: 2 lines spacing;
Ctrl + 5: 1.5 lines spacing
II. Lines spacing in Word in optional mode.
1: Select the paragraph to do the line space. Right-click and choose Paragraph.
2: After appeared the Paragraph box, look to the Line Spacing section and you will see some options as below.
From the options given above, choose what best suit your preferences.
Single: Stretch 1 line. (shortcut Ctrl + 1)
1.5 Lines: Stretch 1.5 lines. (shortcut Ctrl + 5)
Double: Spread 2 lines. (shortcut Ctrl + 2)
At least: Minimum in each row.
Exactly: Correct alignment of the rows.
Multiple: Line spacing according to the user’s preference.
Note: Normally, line spacing for document is most commonly used between 1 and 1.5. If further, the content or the lines will look far apart, it may be a waste of paper and not very nice presentation. So unless necessary, that’s the line spacing I recommend.
If the length of space you want is not given beforehand, in the Line Spacing section choose Multiple. Then fill the length you need in At. Finally OK to apply.
